The Internet is a wonderful place - It is a source for free speech, free ideas and the freedom of both.
Anonymity on the 'Net has also been an incredibly good thing, too: It has allowed thousands of people to get information and ideas out to the world without fear of reprisals to themselves: Reprisals which don't just include the loss of a job or loss of reputation, but loss of life or limb.
Unfortunately, with every good thing, there are those who seek to use it as a bad thing - People who use anonymity not to free information or to inform, but to defame, harass, harm and intimidate.
Legitimate criticism is one thing: Anonymous attacks that make horrendous accusations that not only are not based in truth, but purposefully and falsely created to defame are the epitome of cowardice.
